Goat's Milk and Activated Charcoal Soap: A recipe

Goat's Milk and Activated Charcoal Soap: A recipe

I make these Goat's Milk and Activated Charcoal soap for home use, but they can also be purchased here on the island of Tobago.

If you would like to make your own (and I would encourage you to) use this recipe.  I created these soaps using the Cold Process method and the recipe assumes that you already know how to make soaps.

You can access our how to video on YouTube (don't forget to like and subscribe)

NOTES ON THE RECIPE

This is a 2 lb (32 ounces)  batch

The soap may start off soft, but will harden up nicely in the curing time

Curing time is 30 days

There is a 5% superfat in this soap.

THE RECIPE

Fixed Oils:

12.8 ounces Organic Coconut Oil

12.8 ounces Sunflower Oil

6.4 ounces Olive Oil

Lye Solution

4.6 ounces lye crystals

12 ounces distilled water

Additives:

1 tablespoon Activated Charcoal

Just enough coconut oil or Olive oil to create a paste with the charcoal.

Additional Notes

Watch the how to video on Youtube now

High in Vitamin E, Sunflower oil will slow down oxidation in this soap bar.

The large proportion of organic coconut oil also ensures that this bar will have durability and resist rancidity.

I prefer to pour this soap into individual soap cavities, rather than in a log mold. This is because the high coconut oil proportion, tends to trap a lot of heat in the soap log which may cause cracks in the log.

Try individual molds instead on the log mold with this soap recipe
